Well we are a NEW community so we aren't getting that many questions yet, but we did get a few and here are the answers:
1) Are links I enter "backlinks" or just "clickable"?
A) First of all, this is a community, not really a blog or a forum. This community is designed to benefit the members (registered users) of this community. The major benefit of this community as opposed to posting on other sites is getting 100% of your AdSense revenue, and benefiting from the traffic and SEO created by ALL the members.
To answer your question, your links on this site are clickable but they are not backlinks.
The first purpose of not having backlink capability on our site is to achieve a better PR rank for the community and the member pages. Outbound links reduce the PR of a page and a site. Having a high PR rank will mean your pages get better PR and higher placement in the search engines. Higher placement means more AdSense revenue for the members.
As long as you have your URL on your page, people can click through to your website and find you. The purpose here is to help each other generate AdSense income as a community, not to get a “backlink” to your website. If you want backlinks, there are plenty of other websites that can do that for you. –And while you are at it, get them to give you a backlink to your pages here.
There aren't plenty of sites that are willing to give you 100% of the advertising income generated by your pages. Some give you as litte as 15% and the most I've seen is 60% of the Adsense revenue generated by your own pages.
The second reason is to further discourage the SPAMMERS. Spammers flood blogs and forums with backlinks by automated software. We have gotten as much as 200 automated spam posts a day (per spammer) on other blogs that we have. This devalues the PR of the blog and the pages within it. Plus it is a lot of nuisance for administrators.
2) This is a new site. How long before it gets decent traffic?
The last website we introduced opened on 6/21/07. It was search engine indexed by 6/22//07 and had an Alexa ranking by 6/25/07 (7 million+) It was AdSense profitable the very first day (and each day thereafter). We started off we just 494 page hits our very first day but by 1 month later it was getting over 100,000 page hits a day and somewhere between 3,000 and 10,000 unique visitors a day (We aren't sure because we have two statistical programs one saying 3000 and one saying 10,000 - we think they calculate the definition of a unique visitor differently.) After 30 days, it had an Alexa 3 month ranking of 1.3 million+ and a 1 week ranking of approximately 361,000+).
That was our second website and a community website.
Our first website opened on 3/1/07. It is not a community website but it did over 100,000 unique visitors last month (June) and today has an Alexa 3 month Ranking of 259,003 and a 1 week Alexa ranking of 124,101.
Both of our websites are still growing and growing fast.
3) What can I expect to earn from this website?
That is hard to answer. It depends on the topic of your pages, how well you write, amongst other factors. Some topics pay out as little a 1 or 2 cents a click. Other topics pay out as much as 1 or 2 Dollars a click.
We have been averaging a 5-15% click rate on 2,000-10,000 page impressions a day on our sites. Even at 1 or 2 cents you can make some decent money and of course at $1 or $2 it is very good money.
All we can say is that we are going to drive in traffic to this site. We are good at that. The rest is up to you. Create as many pages as you would like on as many topics as you would like. As long as you are not into porno or anything hateful or disgusting, or you are not spamming us, we will let you post.
Stick with us for awhile. Our first web site has only been in existence 5 months but it keeps growing every month. We have not even gotten close to its eventual potential yet.
So stick with us for awhile, help us build a community that benefits all the members equally ( We all get 100% of the AdSense on our own pages) and enjoy the ride. Get other friends and relatives to join. The more people we have creating traffic and growing the website the better for us all. The SEO engines like HUGE websites as long as they are human creations and not SPAM sites created by robots.
4) Why do I need special permission to post Audio or Video?
Again, this is a community. We don't want the members as a group to suffer because one person does something incosiderate like posting nudity which violates Googles terms of service for AdSense. To get an account that posts audio or video email admin@MeYouWorld.net. We will have you jump through all kinds of hoops and then maybe we will allow you to post....just maybe....
